Kate Middleton has always been open about her love of cooking, especially when it comes to her family. But if Prince William's at the table, it sounds like she has to make a few adjustments to her recipes. During a public appearance this week, the Prince of Wales admitted that spicy food makes him "sweaty," which means his wife has to make sure the curries she cooks for him are mild enough for him to be able to handle. Why is it sort of endearing that a future king can't eat spicy food?

Will's confession happened during an interview with BBC Radio 1.
While revealing that dinner that night would be either teriyaki salmon or curry, hosts Jordan North and Vick Hope asked Will and Kate how spicy they like their curries to be.
"I can't do too much spice, I start sweating. It’s not attractive," Will admitted.
Kate doesn't share his tastes, though.

"Whereas I like the spice so I have to sort of cook the curry and then add the spice, extra spice at the end," Kate said, to which William responded, "Has to bring it in gently because otherwise I get too sweaty. It’s not a nice sight!"
At least they've found a way to make sure they both get to eat what they like.
One member of their family is down to eat spicy foods with Kate.

During a visit to Pakistan, Kate revealed that daughter Princess Charlotte is all about spicy curry, so it sounds like she didn't inherit her dad's intolerance for spice.
"It's so hard cooking curry with the family though. The children have a portion with no spice, [William's] is medium, and I quite like it hot. Charlotte is pretty good with heat," Kate said at the time.

Will and Kate also shared another fun reveal.
The hosts asked them what their most used emojis are, and Will joked that if this wasn't a family situation, his most used would be the "aubergine" (the eggplant, for those of us in the United States).
But in actuality, he said, "It’s the one where the eyes go up and down and the mouth’s out. What’s that one? The slightly crazy one."
And as for Kate? "Mine’s probably going to be the heart, then the crying emoji. The hysterical laughing when things have gone wrong," she said.
Good for Will and Kate for keeping it real.

As members of the royal family, we usually see Will and Kate in more formal situations — opportunities where they both might seem a bit stuffier than they actually are when surrounded by friends and family. It's good to see them let loose in fun interviews like this. You never know what you're going to learn about these two when that happens.
