There were plenty of rumors that Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s marriage was on rocky ground before she revealed her cancer diagnosis last year. But according to a royal insider, William feels like he has a “second chance” with his wife now that she is in remission, and he’s not about to take a single second of it for granted.
As Kate has returned to public-facing work over the last few months, joining her husband on more and more royal engagements, it’s clear that something is different between them. They’re exhibiting hints of PDA like holding hands more than ever before, and apparently, that’s very intentional on Will’s part.
“William has been incredibly supportive through Kate’s cancer battle – he’s really proven himself to be a remarkable partner when the going gets tough,” a royal source told The Sun. “His big focus has been on making the most of their time and this second chance at life together.”
And to accomplish this, the Prince of Wales is dialing up the romance, including grand gestures and kid-free getaways.
“That means more romantic dinners, more long walks and more holidays,” the source continued, per The Sun. “They’re mapping out summer plans right now, with the usual family trips to Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly, but they’re also looking to take a romantic hideaway holiday just the two of them, and even talking about going back to the Seychelles where they honeymooned.”
The insider echoed the claims that William really stepped up while Kate was sick, and it sounds like that hasn’t changed, even though she’s doing much better and is no longer undergoing treatment.
“He took on so many extra duties even in the midst of supporting and his considerable heartache worrying about her,” the source added. “He has been the most doting husband, and everyone, including Kate, says so.”
This new chapter of Will and Kate’s life could be their best yet. It’s good to hear that they have the opportunity to enjoy themselves and their marriage before their lives change forever when they become king and queen in the future.
