Sarah Ferguson is reminiscing about her former BFF Princess Diana. According to Sarah, the late royal really knew how to have a good time back in the day. The mischievous duo actually landed themselves in some hot water when they took things a bit too far during Sarah’s bachelorette party — forcing the police to get involved!
Sarah shared the wild tale during a Tuesday appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.'
The mother of two entertained Kelly’s audience with stories from her 1986 bachelorette party — or hen do, as the British call it. She said she and Diana kicked off the night by going incognito to a local club. “It was extraordinary because we went to a nightclub, of course, you go to a nightclub with the Princess of Wales,” she recalled.
They were able to disguise their famous identities by dressing as police officers.
The ladies had everyone fooled by their outfits.
“We sat down, and the waiter came up to us and said, ‘Excuse me, this is a members club. It’s for fun, and we don’t serve police officers here,'” Sarah recounted.
After that, things seemed to go downhill for the two friends, who were about to become sisters-in-law when they married brothers Prince Andrew and then-Prince Charles.
The police came and threw them in their van while they sorted things out.
Sarah recalled how Diana started eating “smokey bacon-flavored crisps” that she’d found in the police van before getting yelled at by officers. Of course, once the officers realized who they had in their vehicle, they immediately let them go. (Sarah explained that the reason they were arrested was for impersonating police officers.)
We have to imagine that was an awkward moment for both the law enforcement officials and the hard-partying ladies.
That's not all the two women got up to that night.
Apparently, Andrew was out for his bachelor party that same night. The two women beat him home and continued their wild streak. They decided to lock Andrew out of the palace, according to Town & Country magazine (via The Sun).
Diana and Sarah sound like two women absolutely everyone would want to grab a drink with.
Sarah has many happy memories of her late friend.
Despite their falling-out just before the princess’ 1997 death, Sarah and Diana crammed a lot of fun into their relationship. It’s clear that Sarah remembers that time fondly, even if the years that followed were full of heartache for both families.
Diana’s personality was obviously larger than life. We’re sure Sarah misses her dear friend.
