Taylor Swift fans in Austria are experiencing heartbreak this week after the singer's three Eras Tour concerts in Vienna were canceled. Authorities discovered Wednesday that multiple people had been plotting to attack Ernst Happel Stadium in an effort to "kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue." Two suspects have been arrested for their involvement in the plot, while a third is being questioned.

The concerts were set to take place this week in Vienna.
After initial reports that the show would go on after two people had been arrested for their involvement in a terrorist plot to attack the stadium, including a 19-year-old who had pledged allegiance to ISIS, the organizer of the concerts later announced that all three shows would be canceled.
"With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety," read a statement from Barracuda Music that was shared on social media.
More details about the plot have come to light.
According to the Associated Press, officials said in a press conference Thursday that the suspect, who had ties to the Islamic State group, had confessed his plans to "kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue" using knives or self-made explosives.
The suspect had recently quit his job to focus on his attack plans, and when investigators raided his home, they discovered evidence of “concrete preparatory acts,” including chemical substances and devices.
Another suspect had recently been hired to work at the stadium where the concerts were to be held.
The other suspect who was arrested, a 17-year-old, had been hired earlier this week with a company that would be providing services to the venue. He was arrested by special forces after investigators found al-Qaida and Islamic State group material at his home.

US Intelligence initially alerted Austrian forces about the attack plot.
A third suspect, a 15-year-old, is still being questioned but no other suspects are being investigated, NBC News reported.
"The situation was serious, the situation is serious. But we can also say: A tragedy was prevented," said Interior Minister Gerhard Karner.
A source told The Mirror, however, that Taylor will "try to return to Vienna as soon as possible."
"Taylor has been devastated by this. She is devastated for the fans who have been waiting for years to see her," the insider said. "But the thought of what could have happened if the concerts had been targeted by a terror attack is horrifying, and she would never risk the safety of her fans."
