For more than 15 years, Teen Mom viewers have followed the stories of couples who became parents in high school. Unsurprisingly, the moms featured in the reality TV show make a considerable amount of money from airing their dirty laundry. But what does the Teen Mom dads‘ salary look like?
As it turns out, the dads who are still incredibly active in the series earn about the same as the moms. These OG fathers reportedly include Tyler Baltierra, Gary Shirley (Amber Portwood’s ex), and Ryan Edwards (Maci Bookout’s ex). Apparently, they bring in more per episode than some people make per year.

The 'Teen Mom' dads' salary was recently revealed.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup recently shed light on the main Teen Mom dads’ salary per episode. Fathers like Tyler, Ryan and Gary make “about $30,000- $35,000 per episode” according to “behind-the-scenes sources.”
Not too shabby!
The fathers associate with their kids' moms more often for their payday.
“The original guys are making basically what the original top girls make,” a production source told the news outlet. “The money is so good that [the guys] are willing to associate with their baby mamas much more than they normally would, at least for the cameras.”
Dads like Sean Austin and Zach Davis, who have appeared much less frequently, do not earn as much, however.
Still, many 'Teen Mom' stars have faced money problems.
Despite their sizable incomes, many Teen Mom stars have faced money issues. Leah Messer owed more than $195,000 in unpaid taxes at one point. Not to mention, Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra have encountered tax problems of their own.

Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra nearly lost a home due to unpaid taxes.
Earlier this year, Catelynn and Tyler were reportedly on the brink of losing their Michigan home because of unpaid taxes. Catelynn and Tyler owed $5,007.72 on the Michigan property they were trying to sell at the time. Ultimately, they took the home off the market and paid the balance in full on August 2.
Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney also have unpaid tax debt.
In February 2024, two tax liens were filed against Maci — one for $49,383 and another with Taylor for $105,346, In Touch Weekly reported. This was on top of a $14,227 tax lien reportedly from May 24, 2023. Additionally, Maci reportedly owed $12,569 to the state of California in 2017.
