Victoria Beckham went into mama bear mode after a group of concerned fans decided to speak out about son Brooklyn Beckham's cooking. The 23-year-old came under fire after he posted images of a roast beef that has people convinced never actually got roasted, and after seeing the photo he shared online, it's not surprising at all that the jokes are basically writing themselves.
Brooklyn showed off his cooking skills on Thursday.
Brooklyn, who married Nicola Peltz in April 2022, shared a step-by-step video on Instagram of how he was making a Sunday roast "Michelin-style" for his family.
While he excitedly walked followers through each step he took to create the meal — including marinade, dry rub, and searing — people couldn't get over the way the final product looked.
The plated beef was a lot more pink than most people felt it should be.
Eating undercooked meat is always a gamble, especially outside of a restaurant setting, and based on the shade of pink that Brooklyn's roast was after it was heated up and plated, fans were left assuming the pricey piece of prime rib hadn't spent enough time in the oven.
People were fired up over the low-heat meat.
Critics had plenty of material for jokes about the dish, especially when it came to how rare Brooklyn served his roast.
"That'll be walking off the plate in the next clip … " one person wrote.
"A good vet could bring that back to life," another joked.
While there were plenty of laughs to be had, not everyone thought the meal was a joking matter, considering how important food safety is.
Brooklyn likely spent hundred of dollars on the meat alone.
The Beckham clan may not be hurting for money, but the same can't be said of everyone in the UK (and the rest of the world) right now.
"What pains me the most is that probably cost more than most British families can afford to spend on food in a week," one person noted.
"Nobody is using three packs of butter on a roast! Definitely not in the UK," another person wrote, before adding how hard they have to work to afford the basics now.
Victoria came to her son's defense.
Not long after Brooklyn's Instagram blew up with backlash over the beef, Victoria shared the video to her own Instagram Stories (which have since expired), explaining that meat was "rare not raw" as explanation for her son's cooking style, as Yahoo! reported.
We're sure Brooklyn loved the support from his mom, despite all of the hate he'd gotten from his critics. He shouldn't give up on his cooking dreams, but it does seem like he could use a bit more practice in the kitchen.
