This Photo Might Prove Woody Harrelson & Matthew McConaughey Are Actually Brothers

Actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson may be taking their bromance to a whole new level thanks to speculation that the two share some DNA. Matthew opened up about their potential relationship while appearing on the Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa podcast.

Fans uncovered an old photo Matthew posted on Instagram back in 2019.

The resemblance between the two stars is so striking that Matthew captioned the photo "brothers from [other] mothers" at the time. Now, the image is making the rounds again after Matthew confessed that he and Woody may actually be brothers.

Knowing what we now know, we can't help but think there's probably some truth to the theory that Matthew's mom had a brief affair with Woody's dad.

Matthew talked about his suspicions with Kelly.

"In Greece a few years ago, we're sitting around talking about how close we are and our families," Matthew said on the show. "And my mom is there, and she says, 'Woody, I knew your dad.' Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after 'knew.' It was a loaded K-N-E-W."

Oh wow!

The men were left with a lot to unpack after the revelation.

Matthew said after his mother made the comment, he and Woody put their heads together and "did some math." As it turns out, Woody's dad was on furlough at the same time Matthew's parents were separated.

"Then there's possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, or a meeting, or a 'knew" moment,' he continued.

Woody's father died in prison back in 2007.

The hitman spent his final years behind bars after being convicted of the fatal shooting of a judge in San Antonio, Texas, long before Matthew had any ideas about his potential lineage — something he says now weighs a bit on his mind.

"You know, where I start and where he ends, and where he starts and I end, has always been like a murky line," Matthew said of his friend. "And that's part of our bromance, right?"

Matthew has no intention of taking a DNA test to confirm the theory.

Although Woody is open to the idea of learning whether he truly has a brother from another mother, Matthew says he's hesitant because he stands to lose more than his pal.

"It's a little harder for me because he's asking me to take a chance to go, 'Wait a minute, you're trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?' I got a little more skin in the game," he continued.

Hopefully fans understand Matthew's hesitation and give the star some space when it comes to the topic of his dad. It may be fun to joke about the family resemblance, but Matthew does have some valid concerns about how this could upend his entire life if it turns out to be true.
