Losing a parent is something most will have to deal with in their lifetime, and yet, when it happens to you, grappling with it is entirely a unique experience. Everyone has different ways of dealing with grief, and for this Reddit user his coping mechanism yielded some unexpected, positive results.
User hollywoodpizzapirate shared this screenshot showing redditors what happened when he texted his dead father.
"Never shared this before, but after my dad passed away, I texted him periodically. One day someone responded."
The reponse was so touching, many other Redditors chimed in with their condolences and their own experiences doing something similar.
Some confessed he still texted his lost loved one, others noted they couldn't stand deleting voicemails.
And some even found comedic relief thanks to technology.
Mostly, people just revelled in how surprisingly kind people can be.
It's so nice to remember the world isn't always a terrible place.
Stay kind, y'all.
