Desserts are arguably the best part of dinner, lunch, or even breakfast. OK, maybe breakfast dessert isn’t a traditionally accepted meal category, but we can hope. We don’t think we’re alone in that mindset. Anyone who has ever been in a rush and grabbed a cookie on the way out the door for a quick spike in blood sugar can back us up. Or a piece of pie. Pies have fruit in them –they're practically health food! It's not like we are advocating for breakfast ice cream sundaes … Although if we were, it would be perfectly acceptable because what is ice cream if not a more dairy-focused version of a smoothie? Needless to say we are totally committed to that dessert lifestyle, with no type of dessert left uneaten, be it elaborate recipes from scratch, Crock-Pot dump recipes, seasonal treats, and of course no-bake desserts.
No-bake desserts are perfect for when littles want to help with baking, when it’s too hot to use the oven, or when the urge to satisfy a sweet tooth is also accompanied by an urge to be slightly lazy. By nature, no-bake desserts are not as involved as a recipe that demands a mixer, flour sifter, and rolling pin be unearthed from where they normally gather dust in the far reaches of the cabinets. (Or is that just us? We're pretty big no-bake enthusiasts over here.) But lack of effort does not lead to lack of flavor or lack of variety of treats. No-bake desserts run the gamut from an easy banana pudding or rice krispie treat with a twist to salted caramel cheesecake and coconut truffles. Not to belabor a point, but some of these no-bake desserts can even be excellent breakfast treats, specifically the carrot cake bars and the berry healthy cheesecake. One of these no-bake desserts even uses cornflakes! No matter what time of day a person eats them, the following desserts are all delicious and easy to make.
S'mores Bars
Better than the fact that these S'mores are no-bake is the fact that they also don't require a campfire. Get all the chocolatey, marshmallowy goodness without turning on the oven or combing a forest for kindling.
