What exactly is it about the movie Frozen? In many ways, it's a classic Disney film, but we love the heartwarming surprise at the end. The writing is also excellent — the characters are more nuanced than in many stories, especially kids' stories, and the storyline works on multiple levels. Parents and older kids can enjoy layers of it (although it can be hard to do so after the 50th viewing), while the basic story is simple enough for younger children to understand and adore. The plot is well-constructed, and the two princesses are both excellent role models as they change and grow with the story. We love that the rescuing is done by a younger sister, that their sisterly love for each other is exalted over a romance, and that the true message of the story is that girls can be heroes and that learning to accept ourselves can be a struggle — but it's worth it.
That's why it makes so much sense that someone would want a tattoo inspired by the film. The messages are important ones — and we need reminding of them often.
