How to make a Frangelico affogato, the ultimate in boozy desserts

Ready for a mini lesson in Italian? Affogato means "drowned," which is the perfect name for this boozy treat.

A standard affogato is a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream (or gelato if you're really feeling Italian) and a shot of espresso/brewed coffee.

But we like to take things to the next level, which is why we added a shot of Frangelico liqueur. Three ingredients; one sweet, melty, boozy dessert.

The Italians know what's up.

First load up your cocktail glass with three scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Next comes the coffee. Feel free to experiment with flavored coffees like vanilla or hazelnut (or vanilla-hazelnut!).

Top it all off with a shot (or two) of Frangelico.

Time to dig in to your melty, coffee-y, boozy dessert!

Just look at those beautiful layers of flavor. This, my friend, is the perfect after-dinner indulgence.
