Target is launching three new lines for lingerie, loungewear, and sleepwear! All of these lines are going to be size inclusive, and every item will cost less than $30. This could make Target a big source of competition for brand such as Aerie and Victoria's Secret, which has been slipping in sales due to its outright refusal to serve plus-size customers. Given how equally cute and affordable everything from these news brands is, we can't think of a reason to buy our loungewear anywhere else now.
Target has launched three new sister brands for lingerie, sleepwear, and loungewear.
Target is continuing its takeover of the fashion world by introducing three new lines of size-inclusive lingerie and sleepwear. The brands Auden, Colsie, and Stars Above all feature sizing options that go from XS to 3X and 4X. Plus, everything from each brand is less than $30. Everything is available in stores now, but the new lines launch online on March 3.
Auden is a line of lingerie exclusively, not dissimilar to American Eagle's Aerie.
This lingerie brand has 40 different styles of bras, and the sizes range from 32AA to 46G. There are also 50 different styles for panties that range from XS to 4X. Everything in this line is under $22.
Colsie is a line of Gen-Z aimed lingerie and loungewear.
Colsie is Target's take on trendy and more youthful looks. The line features vibrant pastel colors and sizes that go from XS to 3X. The line includes lingerie but also has things such as sports bras, cropped hoodies, sweatpants, and shorts. Everything is $21.99 and under.
Stars Above is more focused on sleepwear.
There are a total of 125 styles to chose from, and they're all $29.99 or less. And the sizing goes from XS to 4X.
Target is also launching tools to help you find your perfect bra size.
Target is also giving its shoppers the tools needed to find their best bras size in and outside of their stores. In-store locations will have "bra fitting studios" that are meant to organized bras so that proper sizes can be found easier. The Target website will offer a "find your fit" tool so those same shoppers can answer a few questions to find the right size.
This is all a part of the store's No Body Like You campaign.
These new brands are a part of Target's No Body Like You campaign, an empowering collection of photos featuring many different body types and shapes. Target maintains all the campaign materials were not altered or heavily edited.
Victoria's Secret is still dominating the lingerie market, but it's losing its footing for a clear reason.
Victoria's Secret is a huge chain retailer, but it's clothing isn't known for being inclusive at all — nor is its promotional imagery or its annual fashion show. Plus, bras at VS can be more than two times the price of the ones in these new Target lines.
Savage X Fenty, on the other hand, is making strives toward size inclusion but isn't quite there yet.
Rihanna's line of lingerie is on the right track, but many people are saying it has a ways to go before it's truly size inclusive. Though the brand offers a variety of plus-sized options, those options are styled in what many consider a "less sexy" way than their straight-size counterparts.
Aerie, though making major strides for body positivity in mainstream loungewear, has yet to see any improvements in its in-store retailers.
If you're plus size and have been to any Aerie location IRL lately, you've probably noticed that stores rarely keep stock of anything above a size 12 or 14. That being said, its online size selection is far more vast.
These Target lines are helping the retailer take over affordable fashion.
Target has a bunch of sister brands already, like its line of clothes for teens called Wild Fable. It also carries more professional office wear with its brand called Prologue. Target claims that about 40% of its shoppers are looking for undies and lingerie when they shop in stores and online, so these collections are long overdue.
Use these new lines to spend the evening inside and indulge in some serious self-care.
Did I also mention that Target is selling its own affordable line of wines? Because it is, and everything in that line is $9.99. The wine is also coming to stores on March 3, so make your next trip to Target one in the name of self-care. Pick out some new PJs and a few bottles of wine so you can spend an evening in front of your TV.
