Women, who are already disproportionately affected by street harassment, can't take comfort online: In fact, 26% of women between the ages of 18 and 24 have been stalked online, and 25% were the targets of online sexual harassment, according to the Pew Research Center.
Over the last few years, projects like Bye Felipe have done an excellent job illuminating the dark underbelly of online dating. But for so many women, harassment extends far beyond that — sometimes, they even receive lewd messages from complete strangers on Facebook.
