Day Care Worker Allegedly Got Drunk at Lunch & Came Back with .356 BAC Then Fell Holding Toddler

Aniya Love Keosongseng’s coworkers knew something was wrong when she returned to work on February 23, 2026, after her lunch break. Keosongseng was slurring her words and having difficulty standing upright while caring for children at Milestones Early Learning Center in Plymouth, Minnesota. Staff called 911, expressing concern for a teacher they feared was having a panic attack. They quickly learned that wasn’t the case at all. When emergency responders arrived, Keosongseng registered a blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit.

Keosongseng’s unusual behavior set off red flags.

According to court documents obtained by KSTP, the day care’s assistant director told police Keosongseng worked with children 12 to 16 months old. Her daily responsibilities included feeding the children, changing diapers, and putting them to sleep. When she returned from her lunch break, the assistant director reportedly noticed her breath smelled of alcohol and she was stumbling when she walked. Surveillance footage allegedly shows her nodding off during a diaper change. She also fell into a wall while holding a child who appeared to hit their head.

When police arrived, Keosongseng reportedly became combative.

Instead of complying with the officers’ request, Keosongseng allegedly kicked one of the officers and bit another one on the leg. A breathalyzer test revealed a BAC of .356, more than four times the legal limit of .08. Emergency crews took her to an area hospital. During an interview with investigators, KARE reported, Keosongseng allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol while on her lunch break.

Milestones Early Learning Center disputed the police account of what happened that day.

KSTP reached out to the center regarding the February 23 incident with Keosongseng. It issued a statement pushing back at the investigators’ findings.

“In February, an incident occurred involving a staff member. Classroom staff notified the Directors of a potential medical concern, and the children were immediately moved to another room so the staff member could be assisted. It was later determined that alcohol was involved. While we are proud of how our team handled the situation, we were deeply disappointed to learn the cause. The staff member was immediately terminated as there is a zero tolerance for alcohol or drug use,” the statement reads.

“We reviewed the video footage from that day and shared it with detectives and state licensing. In our review, we did not observe any instance in which a child was injured or placed at risk due to the staff member’s actions. We will be following up with the police department to understand why their report suggests otherwise,” the statement added. “Detectives spoke with both our Directors and families after completing their review. At that time, they communicated that no child was injured as a result of the staff member’s behavior, which is consistent with what we observed in the video.”

Keosongseng faces charges of child endangerment and obstructing the legal process, both misdemeanors, per KSTP. Perhaps she should also get some treatment for alcohol abuse. She’s lucky she didn’t kill herself or injure an innocent child that day.
