Mom Sets Up Hidden Camera After Seeing Inexplicable Bruises on Daughter & Catches Boyfriend’s Horrific Abuse

Plenty of mothers exist who get absolutely feral at the thought of someone hurting their sweet babies, but a lot of women in the thick of domestic violence situations struggle with leaving. There is so much fear behind that move. Will there be retaliation from the abuser? Will I be isolated from everyone I know and love? Will I survive without their income? All of those concerns are valid, and they do not deserve to be judged, but I think we can all agree that the safety of a child in these situations is of the utmost importance.

So when a mother trusts her gut and takes all the right steps to get her child out of an abusive situation, it is worth celebrating. The Mirror recently reported on an Arizona mom who made sure she collected enough evidence to get her daughter away from her boyfriend who she suspected of abusing her kid. The mother had been dating Ora Ray Carson II for two months and noticed that her 2-year-old daughter was covered in bruises and scratches every time she left her alone with him. Rather than confront him, the mom set up a phone camera and hid it in a room while she was at work.

Upon returning, she reviewed the footage and learned the appalling truth, reporting it to police on February 23, 2026. The Bullhead City Police Department released a statement on Facebook that revealed the footage contained evidence of Carson reportedly “striking the child multiple times in the head,” The Mirror reported. Officers also noted they observed multiple bruises and other injuries on the child consistent with the physical abuse he stood accused of.

People online in the comments section of the police department’s announcement shouted their praise of the mom for taking swift action.

“Good job Momma! You really don’t want to think that the person you are dating is mistreating your child,” one follower wrote. “They would have just denied the truth but Mom seen the red flags and provided PROOF that the abuse was happening.”

“Thank you mom for doing the right thing: reporting him and keeping him away from children-a great reminder to everyone-leave your children with the right person,” added another commenter.

Officers dispatched to Carson’s residence in the 1800 block of Monterey Circle took him into custody, according to the Mohave Valley Daily News. He was booked into Mohave County Jail in Kingman on charges of child abuse and aggravated assault.

The toddler was taken to the hospital and evaluated before being transported to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for further medical evaluation.
