When police in Milwaukee asked for help finding relatives of a lost child, they could never have imagined what they’d soon learn. The little boy, who police believe is nonverbal, was found wandering without socks or shoes around 4 a.m. on November 5, 2025. Hours later, a woman called 911 to report finding the body of 31-year-old Anya Raymond. Relatives claim the lost child is Raymond’s son.
WISN reported that police attempted to identify the little boy after finding him near North 9th Street and Keefe Avenue on the north side of Milwaukee. Around 9 a.m., Rosetta Lampkin-Johnson reportedly found Raymond’s body in an alley near 41st Street and Hampton Avenue. She told WISN she had no idea who the woman was.
“I looked, and I saw the body. Of course, I took off running to call the police,” she said.
Lampkin-Johnson added that she didn’t hear gunshots or a sign of struggle.
“She must have been killed somewhere else and brought here,” she said, per WISN. “You don’t want to see that or see anything happen to someone like that, and my heart goes out to the family.”
Police did not identify the relationship between Raymond and the child, but the family confirmed their identities in a GoFundMe account.
“i just got the worst news any parent could get. That my grandson was found wondering the streets with no shoes on, and that my daughter was found shot dead and left in alley. My heart and head is so heavy with grief,” the fundraiser reads.
Prior to Raymond’s death, she posted a rather cryptic message on Facebook.
“CHECK MATE TALKING ABOUT KIDS IS INSANE BUT GOD DONT LIKE UGLY,” she ended a profanity-laden post on November 3.
In the comment section, some pointed to a woman named Ruby Honeyy as a possible suspect in Raymond’s death.
The woman vehemently denied the claim in a social media post of her own. “Okay look I wasn’t funna fall into y’all Bs to have respect for Anya .! But y’all keep saying s— like I killed her is crazy f—–g work, it’s tragic what happen to her YES,” Honeyy wrote. “What y’all not understanding is before this all came about we fought and she picked my keys up and left in my car Sunday Morning , my car has yet to turn up so ion give a f— how nobody feel about me posting what TF I posted.”
She added, “I have kids , I have a job that Ineed to get back and forth to so yes I posted MY Car , especially with that TF transpired with Nya I felt like that would allow somebody to speak up faster ! Y’all wanna play detectives so f—-g bad!”
Raymond’s son is back with the family, but police have not named any suspects in the case. Honeyy hasn’t made a public Facebook post since November 5. Hopefully, the police can find Raymond’s killer and bring her family some closure.
