Mom Is Getting Slammed for Divorcing Her Husband After His Brain Aneurysm

A mom of two on TikTok is explaining the difficult choice she had to make for her family, and people are mad at her for it.

Kim Beyer shared in a series of videos that she divorced her husband of 18 years after realizing that she could no longer properly care for him or their children after he suffered a brain aneurysm in 2015. When they divorced, he went back to his home country of Germany to be in the care of his family.

People in the comments are calling Beyer all sorts of bad things, despite her explaining that the divorce was "the most loving thing that I could do for him."

Beyer explains that she, her husband, and their families got on a call to make the difficult decision to divorce and have him move back to Germany. They took time preparing their children and community for such a big change.

At the airport, she thanked him for being a great husband and apologized for the way their relationship ended. But she knew that he would be getting a level of care that wasn't available to him in the United States, and it would be unfair to keep him from that.

“Why get married? Why make the vow of 'in sickness and health' if you don't mean it?" one comment reads.

"Horrible people. You should be there until the very end. You promised,” someone else said.

"Till inconvenience do us part," another person wrote.

"Wow what happened to better or for worse I would’ve been packing up my kids going with him," a person commented.

In a final video, Beyer revealed the state of her divorce from her husband and where their relationship stands now.

"Some of you seem to think he's still a vegetable, and he's not," she says, explaining she would never leave him in that state.

She also recorded one of their video chats to show those following their story that they're still on good terms. Her husband was able to show off the improvements he's made physically, and revealed that he has good and bad days, but is constantly learning to get better.

"A lot of people online don't like me," Beyer says. "Some people are saying that I didn't help you. Do you think that I helped you?"

"Yes, very much. Very, very much," he replied.
