Mom Who Jumped into Niagara Falls With 2 Kids Seemed To Be Crying Out for Help on Facebook

A New York mother who plunged to her death in Niagara Falls with her two young children appeared to have gone through an emotional breakup in the weeks leading up to her tragic death.

Chianti Means, 33, reportedly jumped into Niagara Falls with her son Roman Rossman, 9, and daughter Mecca Means, 5 months old, on October 29. Investigators have not yet found their bodies.

Means, who posted on Facebook as Diamond Scott, appeared to be in love with her daughter’s father, but he did not return the feelings. Some wonder if that drove her to end her life, based on her social media posts.

Means' recent Facebook posts seemed directed at someone in particular.

On September 28 she wrote, “I wish someone would love me because the man that’s suppose to does not.” The next day, she shared a Facebook post from another person that reads, “Cheating dont even cross yo mind when you got who you want.”

Means didn’t name the person the posts were directed toward, but it appears to be her daughter’s father.

Things took a foreboding turn on October 1.

The mother posted on Facebook, “You have to hold on to the ones you love. Never know when you might lose them.”

Someone commented on her post after her death, “This is so sad reading now that youve passed and took your children with you away from their father.”

One person disagreed and wrote, “The thing is, how do you know she did it just because of a man? Depression is definitely a real thing and it’s extremely hard to fight it when you have noone… No family no nothing. And you try to stay strong for your kids but the thoughts take over and you just can’t anymore.

“Maybe deep inside her she thought taking the children with her would be the best solution for the kids,” the person continued. “Is a shame people are judging her like she’s here to defend herself. You NEVER know whats going on inside someones head.”

Later the same day, she made another post about her baby's father.

Means wrote, “Everyone please leave me alone I’m in love with my daughter father I want my family back. Respectfully Idgaf what I said about him before or what anyone else thinks.”

A friend commented, “Thats whats up!!! Best of luck!!!!!”

Means responded, “I am trying my absolute best!”

The posts continued for weeks leading up to Means' death.

She shared a post October 14 that read, “Why u and yo ex break up??” with the caption, “Cause I was a dumb a– pregnant b—- who swore up & down I ain’t want him.”

A friend commented, “Yo I’m not gonna lie that sounds a lot like accountability. You know what accountability indicates? Maturity and growth!! rooting for you!”

Means replied, “Thank you. I need all the positive energy I can get!”

Despite her Facebook posts seeming foreboding, police do not suspect foul play and believe Means jumped into the water with her children willingly.
