A police officer is being hailed a hero after bodycam footage was released of him performing CPR on a newborn. The officer doesn’t hesitate to immediately begin administering the lifesaving procedure to the little one while waiting for emergency services to come.
Once the EMT shows up, he quickly turns the baby over to the medical professionals to continue what he started. Thankfully, the EMT works quickly, and together, they are able to get the little one breathing again.

Patrolman Chris Rudy, an officer with the Middle Township Police in Middle Township, New Jersey, rushes out of his patrol car in a clip the police department shared on Facebook.
Rudy wastes no time before beginning chest compressions on the 1-week-old infant while her mother watches frantically. According to the Facebook post, the baby “was blue in color and cold to the touch” when the officer showed up. “After completing one round of CPR, the baby began to regain consciousness,” the post noted.
The officer then hurries with the infant over to the ambulance for EMT personnel to take over care. Quickly, they get the little on on a stretcher, unbutton her onesie, and continue performing chest compressions.
In the background, first responders tell the baby’s mom to get into the ambulance and come up with a plan to get the baby to a hospital. After checking her with a stethoscope, the EMT tells everyone that she has a heartbeat.

The baby was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Cape May Court House for further observation and treatment. But according to ABC 6 Action News, she is alive and doing better.
Both of Rudy’s parents commented on the Facebook post, praising their son for his deeds. “Very proud of my SON and the work he does. I’m honored to be your Father. Your GrandFather would be very proud of you!!” dad Chris Rudy wrote.
“I’m so proud of you Christopher Amazing to see my son saving a life. This is one of the good days for all involved. Great team work first responders. God bless that baby all the rest of her days,” his mother, Karen Rudy, wrote.
