School Bus Driver Saves Wandering Toddler, Leading Police to Family Home Filled With Drugs & Weapons

As moms, we understand that sometimes all it takes is turning our backs for a second for our kids to run wild. It’s important to always keep a close eye on them, especially when it comes to toddlers and babies. Sadly, not every parent puts their children at the top of their list of priorities, and sometimes those kids end up in dangerous situations. Although we often hear about the bad in our world, there is also tremendous good. Thankfully, those Good Samaritans seem to appear just when innocent children need them.

A California school bus driver likely saved a toddler’s life when he saw the child wandering alone in Loma Linda, California. Police arrested the 2-year-old’s parents, who now face multiple charges.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported a school bus driver saw the unattended child in a roadway just after 4 p.m. The driver stayed with the 2-year-old until deputies arrived and determined the child’s address. Police conducted a welfare check at a home on Taylor Street in Loma Linda shortly thereafter.

“During the welfare check, deputies observed multiple firearms and narcotics within reach of the two-year-old child and several older siblings,” police reported in a news advisory.

The sheriff’s office identified the toddler’s parents as 34-year-old Dantion Green McGuire and 36-year-old Monae Myers. Deputies arrested the couple and booked them at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. Both McGuire and Myers are facing charges of felony child abuse, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and animal cruelty.

If it weren’t for the kindness of a stranger, this story could have a much more tragic ending. Hopefully, if the allegations are true, the couple will clean up their act and provide a safe and loving home for their children. No child asks to come into this world, but they all deserve love, compassion, and care once they’re here.
