Counselor Dies by Suicide in School Cafeteria After 14-Year-Old Girl Exposed Their Inappropriate Texts

TRIGGER WARNING: This post contains information about suicide, which may be triggering to some.

Police in Louisiana, say a middle school guidance counselor died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound on January 28, 2026. Sadly, it appears his suicide stems from allegations about inappropriate behavior with a former student. Investigators found 44-year-old Quinton Dixon dead inside the cafeteria of an abandoned school in Baton Rouge. Just weeks earlier, administrators from Westdale Middle Magnet School put Dixon on leave after a minor came forward with strange messages she claimed came from Dixon. Even though he’s dead, the victim’s family still wants justice for the innocent child.

According to court documents, Dixon’s death came the same day authorities named him in an arrest warrant, WBRZ reported. Two weeks before, officials with the East Baton Rouge School System placed Dixon on leave to investigate the serious allegations. Dixon allegedly began exchanging messages with a 14-year-old girl in November 2025 and continued until January 2026.

Dixon reportedly commented on the minor’s appearance and offered her rides home from school. He faced four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, WBRZ reported.

“Today, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System was notified of the passing of an employee. We extend our condolences to the school community, family, and loved ones as they process this information during this difficult time,” the district shared in a statement obtained by WBRZ.

Tyler Washington, the victim’s sister, told TMZ that Dixon’s apparent suicide doesn’t bring his sister justice. He said his sister and family are taking the entire situation very seriously.

“It’s hard not to get emotional about it,” Washington told the outlet. “Just looking at the aftermath, it’s a lot for a 14-year-old to carry on their shoulders.”

Washington did not disclose his family’s legal plans but firmly believes the school needs to take responsibility.

“The facility that was supposed to protect my sister, they failed,” he added.

Kdott Spann, a friend of Dixon’s, shared his feelings about the situation in an emotional Facebook post.

“I’m sorry i wasn’t a good friend when you needed guidance bro. I’m sorry i didn’t call you when the news came out. Man i feel bad on so many levels and i can’t explain this feeling of being mad, sad and confused. I was shocked and a lost for words about someone i talked to all the time… Imma say it. Quentin Dixon was my dawg and i feel like i failed him,” Spann wrote.

“Had i put my anger and disappointment to the side and been a real friend maybe i could have kept him mentally stable. I can’t sit back again and not say nothing. And watch all the stuff being said,” he added.

Unfortunately, a man lost his life, but if these allegations are true, he had more demons than anyone might have guessed. Hopefully, this child and the school community will heal.
