New Details Emerge in Killings of Missing Army Veteran Travis Decker’s 3 Young Daughters

New details have come out in the case of the killings of Travis Decker’s daughters after they went missing in Washington state. On May 30, 2025, Travis, 30, had a court-appointed visit with his daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5. However, the US Army veteran didn’t return the girls to their mother, Whitney Decker, at the scheduled drop-off time of 8 p.m. in Wenatchee.

Whitney Decker reported her daughters missing about 9:30 p.m. that day, resulting in three days of searching. Tragically, the three girls were discovered dead June 2 near their father’s abandoned pickup truck at Rock Island Campground in Chelan County, Washington.

Travis Decker is wanted on kidnapping and first-degree murder charges; he still hasn’t been found three months later.

Previously, an affidavit detailed that the girls had plastic bags over their heads, with at least one restrained with zip ties, when they were found, per KOMO News. The sisters died of asphyxiation, with the manner of death ruled a homicide, a medical examiner determined.

On August 19, a news release from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office offered disturbing new details about the sisters’ conditions.

“Two of the victims each had two separate bags over their heads and the third victim had three separate bags over their head,” the release reads, per ABC News. “In addition, several cable ties were located on the ground in the immediate area of the bodies.”

The sheriff’s office stressed again that Travis Decker remains the sole suspect in this case, as DNA evidence from the plastic bags and one of the zip ties link him to the deaths.

“The completion of this DNA analysis provides additional evidence that indicates Travis Decker is the only suspect involved in committing these homicides,” the sheriff’s office noted in the release.

Since his disappearance, Travis Decker has been the focus of a manhunt. The military veteran, who is knowledgeable about wilderness survival, may have fled to Canada, according to a US Marshals Service affidavit obtained by People, as he allegedly searched “how to relocate to Canada” online.
