A young Black girl in Florida has become the victim of racist threats for trying to sell candy in her own neighborhood. The story began after Tyler Chambers, a white man, posted an image of the girl in a local Facebook group. While he thought he only shared the post with group members, it began spreading quickly because of the violent tone.
Soon, people were calling for the man to be fired from his job. All the backlash led to him deactivating his Facebook account. And now, the child’s mother is vowing to take legal action against the man.
Beyond Shabazz started a GoFundMe to raise funds for legal help. “My daughter, Sincere, who is 9 years old, and her cousin, who is 11 years old, came home from school and decided to go out and sell candy for money,” she wrote on the fundraiser.
According to Shabazz, she wasn’t even aware the girls were out selling candy on April 14, 2025. She was in her home caring for her 1-year-old, as well as her mother, who is recovering from brain surgery. The mom said she does allow her daughter to play outside after school as long as one of her older cousins is present.
Shabazz wasn’t aware of what happened until Tyler Chambers’ NSFW post began to go viral. “Tyler Chambers and his wife, Cassidy Chambers, stated on social media they were going to hurt my little girl because she knocked on the door. His exact words were, ‘YOU’RE LUCKY WE WERENâT HOME TO SHOOT YOUR A–, DUMB B—-‘ to a 9-year-old!!” she wrote.
Allegedly, Chambers also claimed that the girl was with her brothers, but she Sincere actually does not have any brothers. He reportedly believed the children were trying to break into his home.
The hatred these people have for our innocent babies is horrific. This man name is Tyler Chambers and he stated that he wouldâve killed this young baby girl just for knocking on his door. #TylerChambers pic.twitter.com/Dr5BhHx7fD

“Mind y’all, itâs broad daylight, and my daughter looked directly into the ring camera, which all of us have at our front doors, and asked if they wanted to buy candy. We literally stay in the same community. My daughter is 9 years old; she doesnât know the first thing about breaking into a house,” the mom said. She also said that Chambers and his wife lied about not being home in their original post.
After Tyler Chambers’ post went viral, he followed it up with an apology. “It was not how it should have been handled at all,” he wrote. He then claimed to want to meet with the girl’s parents to “get the whole understanding of what was going on.”

However, Shabazz believes that it’s too little, too late. She’s already been in contact with local authorities to file a report. “I was told by officers that he and his family have left their home due to threats from all over because of the post he made about my daughter,” she wrote. The investigation is currently open, Shabazz says.
“My child does not feel safe in her neighborhood now due to this, and now every time she clicks on her Facebook or TikTok, she sees what this monster posted about her for the world to see,” Shabazz wrote. “I will not let this go under the rug. I promise I will make an example out of this fool.”
