A Bride Banned Guests From Breastfeeding at Her Wedding & People Are Livid

When you get invited to a wedding, you typically receive some additional information about the nuptials along with the invitation. From details about hotel blocks to where the couple is registered, these supplements are often helpful. However, what one new mom found tucked in the envelope for an upcoming celebration left her –- along with many women across the Internet — totally disgusted. The anonymous nursing mom of a 2-year-old and 3-month-old took to the Breastfeeding Mama Talk page on Facebook to share a note from the bride asking moms not to nurse in public during the wedding.

"We have designated an appropriate place for you to feed your baby so you do not have to do so ... in front of our family and friends," the note read.

Spoiler alert: The "designated nursing area" was the bathroom.

The mom, whose husband was actually best man in the wedding, explained on Breastfeeding Mama Talk that she had previously offered to leave her kids with a friend who was willing to wet-nurse her youngest, because they haven't yet found a bottle she'll take. "We have had several arguments over 'my' breastfeeding ways and they have multiple times voiced that I need to go elsewhere to do that in 'private,'" she divulged.

But the mom's mother-in-law wasn't okay with the idea of her grandchild wet-nursing, so the mom was torn on what to do with the rude invitation. "I said [I] would just bring my littlest baby to the wedding then, but no way in hell I will leave and nurse her in the bathroom (no matter how 'nice' they make it!)," she wrote.

Ultimately, she ended up leaving both kids with her friend and attending the wedding without them, but people still slammed the bride-to-be.
