When parents leave their kids in the hands of babysitters, daycare workers, and even teachers, we have to be able to trust that they'll be protected and respected. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case. After her little girl came home with waxed eyebrows, a young mother in Washington is demanding answers from her daughter's daycare.
Mom and student Alyssa Salgado sends her daughter to a daycare on her university's campus.
Before Salgado dropped her 2-year-old daughter off at Columbia Basin College's daycare, the little girl had a unibrow. The mom says you can clearly see the unibrow in this photo she snapped of her daughter the morning before the incident happened.

But when Salgado went to pick her daughter up, she noticed something strange.
Salgado originally assumed the red mark between her daughter's eyebrows was just a scratch and thought very little of it. When she got home and examined it further, she realized the mark had been caused by waxing.
Immediately, Salgado sent a text message to the daycare's director.
The mother says she wasn't taken seriously at all. "She tried to come up with multiple excuses," Salgado wrote on Facebook.
Salgado decided to confront the staff in person the next morning, and recorded parts of their meeting.
During their emotional meeting, the mother claimed the head administrator outright denied that anyone on staff waxed the little girl's eyebrows. "She [laughed] in my face, telling me a bunch of lies," the mom wrote.
The mother ultimately left the meeting without justice for her daughter.
Another mom, Glenda Maria Cruz, claimed workers at the same daycare had waxed her son's eyebrows as well.
"I feel like a bad mom because I can't protect him when he needs me the most and it sucks feeling this way," Cruz wrote on Facebook.
After Salgado's post went viral, Columbia Basin College released a statement on Facebook.
The school said it was aware of the complaint against the daycare staff and is conducting its own investigation of the incidents.
"The Boys and Girls Club, Pasco School District, and Columbia Basin College take these allegations seriously and will work together to support the investigation process," the statement said.

Still, Salgado says she won't be satisfied until someone faces consequences.
"I birthed my daughter and love every little thing about her and these so-called women took it upon themselves to correct the way my daughter should look," she wrote on Facebook. "Imagine if this was your son or daughter and if they were waxing them imagine how much pain you would be in. I can imagine [my daughter] calling out 'mommy' and I wasn't there to protect her, I failed her. But I refuse to let this go unnoticed."
