Mom Disinvited To Her Son’s Wedding After His Fiancée Saw Her Cream Dress

Weddings can bring out the worst in people. For one mom who wrote in to the parenting forum Mumsnet, she had her own tale of woe for the upcoming wedding of her son and his fianceé. The user, bingogal21, wrote that after a whirlwind romance her son was getting married in October. The mom went and bought a new dress for the event, only to be told by her son that the base of the dress, which was cream, was against his future bride's wishes. Bingogal21 said that she agreed to change her dress, but her son's fianceé isn't having it and has since uninvited her to the wedding. Was she being unreasonable? she wondered.

Bingogal wrote that despite her promise to change her dress, her future daughter-in-law was p*ssed that her dress had a cream base.

She asked other parents on the forum Mumsnet if she being unreasonable for being upset about the rescinded invite.

"To say I'm upset is an understatement and he has not been in touch," she added.

The mom even posted a picture of the dress, which was cream with pink and gray flowers on it.

Many users on the thread agreed with Bingogal, saying this future daughter-in-law was way out of line.

This mom wrote in that not only was she on Bingogirl's side, she felt "sorry for your son, to be honest."

And this mom wanted Bingogal to stand her ground because "pandering to her seems wrong," she wrote.

"Hopefully your son will see sense and not allow it," added a third user.

But not everyone was buying Bingogal's story. Some thought that perhaps she was leaving out some key facts.

This person wrote in that she believed there is much more to the story than Bingogirl is telling. This is more than "this dress issue," she reasoned.

And another person questioned Bingogal's resistance to buying a new dress. Why did she wait so long? she asked.

A third person offered another answer: Bingogal doesn't really like her son's fianceé.

And although there might be some truth in this person's assessment, it probably would be best for Bingogal to reach out to her son and his wife-to-be and make things right. Going to the wedding in a different dress is better than not going at all!
