I hope you’re sitting down for this, because there is yet another Baby Shark announcement to share. Kellogg’s is launching a limited-edition Baby Shark cereal — and your kid will definitely be begging for it in the grocery store. That’s right, now those doo doo doos will be stuck in your head from sunrise to sundown, because your kiddo will likely be humming the tune over breakfast. (And so will you! MUHAHAHAHA.)
Kellogg’s announced the new breakfast treat on Friday, which will be available in select US stores next month.
Sam’s Club members will have the lucky first dibs, because it will launch first in all locations on August 17 — just in time for back to school! Plus, for the first 30 days, Sam’s Club will be offering it in a two-pack for just $5.98, which is a pretty incredible deal when you think about it.
Come late September, the breakfast cereal will be available for purchase in select Walmart stores too — but only in single packs. And because this cereal is limited-edition only, you can only expect to see it in stores while supplies last. (In other words: Better hurry.)
The cereal looks pretty yummy, too -- in fact, you might wind up pouring a few bowls for yourself and not just your kid.
The cereal is said to feature the delicious-sounding flavor “berry-fin-tastic,” along with plenty of marshmallows to top things off. (Talk about a kid’s dream come true.) But if you're expecting to find some shark-shaped treats floating around in that cereal milk, you're going to be disappointed. The cereal itself is O-shaped, and most of the Baby Shark theme is reserved for the box, which features the happy yellow shark smiling underwater.
"We know Baby Shark is a catchy tune that has captured the hearts of many families," Erin Storm, Kellogg's marketing director all family cereal, said in a press release. "New Kellogg's Baby Shark cereal was created to expand on the joy families feel in a tasty way."
'Baby Shark' first swam into our lives (and got stuck forever in our heads) back in 2015, when the catchy kids' tune first hit YouTube.
Since then, the two-minute long musical video, created by Pinkfong, has racked up over 3.1 billion views and spawned more shark-themed merchandise than you could possibly imagine.
In June, it was announced that a Baby Shark TV series was in the works over at Nickelodeon — much to the delight of tiny fans everywhere. Then, not even a week later, came the news that a North American live tour would be coming this fall (as parents let out a collective groan).
But there's also been Baby Shark bedding and Baby Shark toys and … well, now there's Baby Shark cereal, people! Honestly, you can't make this stuff up.
