Girl Gets Siri to Change Mom’s Name on Work Emails to ‘Poop Your Pants’ & She Has No Idea

Every now and then, the internet serves up a hilarious but cautionary tale about just how much destruction and embarrassment kids are capable of. Things such as ordering a $400 couch on Amazon, as one toddler in California did this year. Or destroying $1,300 worth of makeup in Sephora, like one forever infamous child did back in 2017. And this week, we have a new parenting horror story to add to the list: A daughter in Maitland, Florida, instructed Siri to change her mom's name on her work emails … and OH MY GAWD were the results hilariously mortifying.

Last week, the girl told Siri to give her mom a less ... shall we say ... "distinguished" signature than the one she already had.

Instead of coming up as "Lauren Brown" when her coworkers and colleagues emailed her, the mom suddenly appeared under a different name. One that definitely elicited elementary school-style giggles across her workplace.

Her new name was … drumroll, please … Poop Your Pants.

I repeat: POOP. YOUR. PANTS.

"In case you’re wondering how my career is progressing, my daughter asked #Siri to call me 'Poop Your Pants' which I didn’t realize until I was copied on an email to a client," Brown later wrote, when sharing the debacle on LinkedIn. "Let this be a cautionary tale to all you working parents!"

Lauren Brown, a senior district manager at ADP, posted the embarrassing story on LinkedIn last week, where horrified readers could not. get. enough.

You see, apparently Siri is capable of way more than any of us older folks realized. Sure, she can tell you the weather and remind you not to miss that doctor's appointment in the morning, but she can also change the name that comes up when you send an email. And although Brown had no idea this was even possible, it seems her young daughter did.

All at once, the internet reacted in pretty much the same way: simultaneously dying inside and crying with laughter.

"That’s hysterical!!!!!!!!" wrote one person.

"One of my favorite things I’ve seen on LinkedIn," added another.

But the best comments by far were those from fellow parents who could absolutely commiserate with Brown's mortification. In fact, they had similar tales of embarrassment, after their kids did the very same thing.

"Oh my goodness my son did this to me!!!" wrote one mother. "He told Siri to call me 'jiggly butt' … I didn’t know whether to be mad or proud that he got me."

"My son's Siri knows me as 'the most annoying person in the world,'" added another.

Another mom shared this RIVETING tale:

"My daughter did this to my dad," she began. "He’s 72 and drives for Uber and barely knows how to use his iPhone. A passenger had a question and my dad felt proud saying, 'Oh I’ll ask Siri'." When he did, she said, 'Here is what I found online for you, Lady Lumps.'  He was so embarrassed. And it wasn’t until after he called me did he learn what lady lumps actually are! Lol. Needless to say, the passenger cracked up laughing."

One husband even admitted to pulling the same prank on his unwitting wife: "My wife’s phone calls her Stinky Foot McGillicuty," he wrote. "And I haven’t yet told her how to undo it."

(To be fair, Stinky Foot McGillicuty is pretty a rock solid nickname. Here's hoping she never changes it.)

In the end, Brown admitted that it took a bit for the shock and embarrassment to wear off.

But when it did, she found just as much humor in it as the rest of LinkedIn members. Plus, I'm willing to bet there are a LOT of parents out there who are thankful she shared the cautionary tale. After all, they might be next.
