Recycle Old Car Seats & Strollers Through Meijer’s Baby Gear Recycling Program & Get a 25% Off Coupon

If you’re looking for a car seat trade-in event and are located in the Midwest, be sure to check out Meijer’s Baby Gear Recycling Program.

The program lets parents and caregivers bring in used car seats and strollers to be recycled, and in return, grants them a 25% off coupon to be used on new baby gear. The coupon is loaded into your digital mPerks account, so it’s ready to use when you need it.

Your 25% off coupon can be used for baby items such as:

Even more enticing, the 25% code can be used twice, so you get twice the fun as another popular trade-in program. As a Midwestern mom myself, I love Meijer and shop there nearly weekly, but there is a drawback to the store: It doesn’t offer shipping, so you’ll need to physically go to the store to shop for your new baby gear.

To help you choose, I’ve included some of my favorite car seats that the store sells so you can do some research before you head to the store.

Graco EasyTurn 360 2-in-1 Rotating Car Seat

After wrangling five kids in and out of car seats for decades, I wish this rotating car seat had existed when I was a younger mother. The ability to pivot the car seat instead of wrestling a squirmy toddler is genius.

You can use the Graco 360 rear or forward-facing, and you’ll hear an audible “click” when the car seat is rotated back into a safe position for driving. Plus, it comes with convenient cupholders and a plush lining that can easily be removed for washing.

Graco TurboBooster® 2.0 Highback Booster

I’m also a huge fan of Graco booster seats. And if you’re trading in a car seat, it only makes sense that you might be ready to trade up for a booster, so this is a good one to check out. I love that it has a high back, can convert to backless when needed, and comes with hide-away cupholders. (They’re nice when you need them, but also nice to tuck away when you don’t!)

Another plus? The easy-to-remove fabric. I have had to remove and wash ours countless times, and it takes less than a minute. They’re machine-washable and dry easily, and then you can pop them back on to hit the road again. I love Graco booster seats so much that I stock two in my car just in case we pick up a friend or I need to send my daughter with a friend or grandma.

Baby Trend Expedition 2-in-1 Stroller Wagon

Meijer also carries a version of the Baby Trend Expedition 2-in-1 Stroller Wagon. If you haven’t considered a stroller wagon before, allow me to tell you that it’s one of the best parenting products I’ve ever used. I much prefer a stroller wagon over a stroller, and here’s why: It’s easier to haul kids around in, you can basically stuff it full of anything you need to take with you, and I swear to you, kids stay seated better in a wagon vs. a stroller.

(My kids hated sitting in strollers but found wagons to be a delightful adventure.)

This version comes complete with adult cupholders, a shade canopy (super helpful), and catchall storage. Plus, there’s an extra cushion mat that can transform the wagon into a perfect napping spot. If you have any trips planned for the summer or just want a way to cart the kids around town or your yard, definitely check out a stroller wagon.

Meijer’s baby gear recycling program runs through May 31, so pack up your old car seat or stroller and be sure to check it out in-store!
