People can say (and do) some pretty loopy things when they're on anesthesia. And thanks to the internet, a lot of these moments have been shared far and wide in viral videos providing us with endless hours of comedy gold. (Ahem, David After the Dentist, anyone?) Lucky for us, a mom on TikTok has just shared her own crazy story, after her husband convinced her they'd kidnapped their kids while she was under anesthesia. (And BOY, it is it worth a watch.)
TikTok user @justagirlnamedcandace shared the clip on Thursday.
Yep — it seems that her anesthesia worked a little TOO well.
"That's right, I kidnapped 'em all," her husband says in the clip as the family drives home from the dentist. "I'm gonna sell 'em!"
Candace, who sits in the front seat looking confused, glances over her shoulder to the three kids in the back seat. She recognizes two of them … but the third one? She's not so sure about her.
"Where'd that one come from?" she asks her husband.
"I don't know," he replies, hoping she'll buy it.
… And apparently, she does.
Then her husband takes it one step further.
"Which one you think will get us the most money?" he asks, before insisting, "This was your idea!"
But Candace is adament.
"I didn't kidnap a kid!" she shoots back. "Jason, I did not kidnap a kid."
"We only had two though," she adds, to which her husband cannot hold back his laughter.
Clearly, she has no memory of giving birth to her daughter, who sits in the back seat looking disturbed by the whole thing.
But just wait, because it gets even better ...
But that's when Mom starts to get skeptical about the other kids ...
"Jason, that one's definitely not our kid," she says after looking in the back seat and spotting her son. "It's a boy."
"What? What do you mean?" her son says back.
"I told you, I got 'em off a playground," her husband continues.
"Jason, we gotta take them back," Candace tells him.
"I'm not — we're selling these little sh–s!" he replies.
BRB — I. AM. DYING.
Candace buys the whole thing — hook, line and sinker.
"OMG, Jason, why would you do that?" she asks as her kids begin to cry in the back seat.
The whole thing is pretty hilarious (in kind of a dark way), and the humor was not lost on the parents of TikTok.
It's been viewed more than 15 million times and garnered more than 35,000 replies.
"Something to tell their future therapists about," one person quipped.
"Omg poor kids!" wrote another. "But I can't stop laughing.
Some people did call out how messed up they thought the whole thing was.
"Trauma, but make it entertaining," wrote one person.
"Am I the only person not laughing?" asked another.
"This is literally the funniest and saddest video ever," someone else commented.
To those who were offended, Candace clarified things in the comments, assuring them that her kids are not actually scarred by what went down.
"It's funny, my kids were in on the joke," she assured one person. "You've seen 59 seconds, you didn't see the entire thing. You can't judge. My kids are still begging to watch it and laugh."
Phew. Honestly, I'm glad to hear that … especiallly because it makes me feel less guilty for cry-laughing over this.
