A man in South Carolina was arrested after he admitted to intentionally dropping a baby on the pavement.
Richard Kavin Register was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child, public disorderly/public intoxication, and simple possession of marijuana. When he was arrested, he told police officers, "There is nothing wrong with playing rough."

The child was put in protective custody
After the incident, the child, who had redness on its back and a small scrape on its stomach, was taken to the hospital for further assessment.
An "involved other" was later spoken to by the police, and showed no concern for the way Register had treated the child.
Because of the lack of concern by the "involved other," and their continuing to allow Register to be in the child's presence, the South Carolina Department of Social Services went to the hospital to take the child into emergency protective custody.
