I Sat Alone & Crying in My Car After None of My 6 Kids Acknowledged Me on Mother’s Day

Mother's Day can be tricky to navigate for many families. Whether a single mother is doing it all on her own, a married mom doesn't get enough support, or a mom has died or just isn't in the picture, emotions can run wild on Mother's Day. Still others simply don't feel as appreciated as they hoped they would be. It's not always bouquets of flowers, breakfast in bed, and homemade cards.

A TikTok mom named Kelsey Mayfield posted a video venting about not receiving a single gift on Mother's Day despite having six children. The defeated mom sat in her car as she tearfully shared the sacrifices she's made for the sake of her kids. Unfortunately, plenty of fellow mothers could relate to her feelings of disappointment.

In the clip, she explained why she was crying in her car.

In the caption of her TikTok video, Kelsey lamented, "6 kids and not 1 card but its okay ill go pick my own flowers #mothersday #wompwomp."

The emotional and visibly defeated mom began her video, explaining, "I'm sitting in my car crying on Mother's Day. I can't even get myself together to go outside and get a f—ing smoothie."

Kelsey proceeded to explain the sacrifices she's made in her life for the sake of motherhood.

"As somebody who gave up their entire life, just felt like the best, most rewarding thing I could possibly do with myself is not to continue my career, not to continue my personal development, professionally speaking," she vented. "How I should just quit everything and just focus on my f—ing kids and somebody else's kids because they need love, and they need a mother, and they need this. And that's going to be so f—ing rewarding."

Ultimately, she expressed her profound disappointment at not reaping the 'glow' of 'all that effort.'

Kelsey concluded the car portion of her video by sharing, "On Mother's Day of all days, you would think that would be the day where you would get the glow of all that, all that effort."

In another clip, she walked outside alone to conclude her message. "So, where have I ended up on Mother's Day? By myself." Kelsey said. "Because my kids are disappointing. Duh."
