As you stare into the eyes of your brand-new baby, in addition to the overflowing feelings of unconditional love, you might also be struck with the realization that one day this child is going to need you less and less. Eventually, you’ll have to send them out into the world hoping that strangers will show them some measure of kindness.
One mother was fortunate that her 6-year-old son found this kindness as he was traveling alone on an airplane.

'He's protected,' another mom informed the boy's mother.
Mari Lynn shared a video of herself sitting on the plane. Although she didn’t know the boy’s mother, she wanted to send her a message. Over the video of herself sitting next to the boy, she wrote, “To the mama that had to send her 6 year old baby on an airplane alone…I want you to know he’s protected, the universe paved its way for me to it with him and he’s making it to grandma’s house safely.”

A flight attendant asked if Mari Lynn wanted to sit next to the boy, and she jumped at the opportunity.
In the description of the video, which has since gone viral, Mari Lynn wrote, “I don’t believe in coincidence ♀️ as soon as I was given the opportunity to sit with this little man I said yes without hesitation.”
In a follow-up video, Mari Lynn explained that the journey was a long one, across the country. She shared that even though she wasn’t initially assigned to this seat, a flight attendant asked if she wouldn’t mind sitting there. Mari Lynn said yes and was glad she did. “He has entertained me thus far,” Mari Lynn wrote. “I’m in love. I have a new besty.”
People online are requesting an update.
Mari Lynn wanted to share that another mama bear had taken care of this boy. As of now, the mother of the boy has not reached out or made herself known, but the people in Mari Lynn’s comment section have thanked her for looking after this child.

Another person wrote about the anxiety her mother felt sending her on a flight by herself for the first time. “I was 8 the first time I flew alone & I remember my mom threw up all morning with nerves,” the person recalled. Thankfully, there was a happy ending. “I sat next to the sweetest man who gave me 5 bucks! Lol,” she wrote.
