Amazon is a wonderful place for many things. Right now, beauty isn't one of them.
While Amazon has cracked down hard on counterfeit electronics and fashion, knock-off beauty products are still easily available on the site — and with no guantees about the ingredients or the safety of the packaging, they can be really, really dangerous.
To make matters worse, YouTubers and influencers with a lot of power have been doing "full faces of counterfeit makeup" like it's some kind of funny trend. This is not a good idea. Counterfeit makeup can give you chemical burns, hives, and has even been shown to contain gross additives like urine.
The sellers also use fake pictures — often taken from the legit sources — to scam buyers into purchasing knockoff products. To help stop this madness, I went into the deep and horrifying beauty black-market of Amazon and scouted out 13 serious knockoffs to look out for.
