Prince Harry & Meghan Buck Tradition With ‘All-American’ Party for Lilibet’s 2nd Birthday

It's hard to believe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's second child is already 2 years old, but their family celebrated this fun milestone on Sunday. And now, we have an inside look into how Harry and Meghan likely marked the occasion.

It was reportedly an 'all-American affair.'

Royal expert Jennie Bond told the UK's OK! Magazine that it was probably a relatively relaxed party — and some of Meghan and Harry's famous friends may have made the guest list.

"I would expect to see a sprinkling of celebrities and a laid-back party, which hopefully will include some other toddlers," she said (via Page Six).

There may have been a call with her grandfather back in the UK.

As far as we know, Harry still isn't on the best of terms with his father, King Charles, but Bond believes that contact would have been made in honor of Lilibet's birthday.

"It would be nice to think the day might include a video call to Lilibet’s grandfather, King Charles III, and hopefully some sort of gift has been arranged and will be delivered to Montecito for her birthday," she said.

Charles may have had an extra special gift picked out.

As New Idea pointed out, a royal source told New Idea that Charles was inspired to give his granddaughter something extra special for her birthday: a play house.

"Charles has had his aides looking at a custom-made cubby house, similar to what the Queen and Princess Margaret had when they were girls," the source said. "He wants to give Lili something she will use and be hers. She’ll remember it forever – it’s going to be the ultimate surprise!"

Prince Harry was a no-show in court because of Lili's birthday.

On Monday, Prince Harry's phone hacking trial against the Daily Mirror began in London High Court, but in the opening statements, his lawyer stated that he hadn't been able to make it in time after celebrating his daughter's birthday on Sunday. At the time, Harry was en route from California and expected to be in court on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, that didn't look good to the judge, who said he was "a little surprised" not to see Harry there, according to Fortune.

This year's celebration was a lot different from last year's.

Court case aside, last year Lili celebrated her first birthday in the UK with a party at Frogmore Cottage because her family was in town for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

It stands to reason that this year's event was much more low-key — and her dad was sure to be there for it all.
