Miley Cyrus and godmother Dolly Parton are related after all — a revelation that shocked the country staple.
The “Jolene” crooner, 78, and sister Rachel Parton George were promoting their new cookbook, Good Lookin’ Cookin’: A Year Of Meals on Access Hollywood when they learned the fun fact. Per Ancestry.com, the outlet discovered that Miley, 31, is a seventh cousin, once removed.
“Is that true?! That’s amazing!” exclaimed the 10-time Grammy winner. Dolly added that she and the “Flowers” singer are “so close, I thought we would’ve been at least third cousins, 10 times removed. I’m sure she’ll get a kick out of that.” The 9 to 5 star added, “But it doesn’t surprise me, because she does feel like family.”

Dolly's and Miley's lineages align thanks to their great-grandfather, John Brickey.
The shared ancestor lived in the early 1800s in Tennessee’s Blunt County, about 20 miles from Dolly’s theme park, Dollywood.
The news would probably be welcome for the Hannah Montana star, who last week was sued for copyright infringement.
The lawsuit alleges Miley copied another song.
Tempo Music Investments alleged in their suit last week that Miley’s 2023 chart-topper, “Flowers” — which scored the Disney Channel alum her first two Grammys — ripped off Bruno Mars’ 2013 Grammy-nominated track, “When I Was Your Man.”
The company at the time claimed that “‘Flowers’ would not exist without ‘When I Was Your Man,’” adding that the songs’ similarities are “undeniable.”
