You’re never too old for love! A Pennsylvania couple is proving that there is no expiration date on marriage. After marrying this year, the pair have set a world record for both being at least 100 years old at the time of the wedding. The centenarians are proving that age ain’t nothing but a number when you’ve found the love of your life.
It might seem unnecessary for the couple to marry given their advanced ages. But it’s nice to see they found it important to legally be married, even though they don’t know what the future holds for them.

The couple has been together for many years already.
The couple, 102-year-old Marjorie Fiterman and 100-year-old Bernie Littman, tied the knot in May 2024 after dating for nine years. At the time of their wedding, the couple had a combined age of 202 years and 271 days, setting the Guinness World Record for oldest newlyweds. They beat the previous record holders, who had a combined age of 194 years and 279 days when they wed in June 2015, according to Guinness World Records.
They have both been married before.
The couple met at a a costume party at a senior living facility in Philadelphia. They had both been married before and didn’t expect to fall in love. Both were previously married for more than 60 years.
“The pair bonded by sharing meals and participating in their retirement community’s productions,” Guinness World Records noted. “Bernie credits his long life and happiness to reading and staying up-to-date, and Marjorie credits hers to buttermilk.”

Their whole family was on hand for the wedding.
The couple married at their retirement facility. Littman has two children, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren from his 65-year first marriage. All of his family was in attendance at his second wedding. Fiterman and her first husband didn’t have any children.
One of Littman’s granddaughters, Sarah Sicherman, posted about her grandfather’s wedding on Facebook, writing, “With so much sadness/fear in the world, it’s nice to be able to share something that brings people joy.”
Littman's family is 'thrilled' by the couple's choice to marry.
Sicherman spoke with The Jewish Chronicle about the couple. She said the pair was “so lucky to have found each other and be a support to each other, especially during the pandemic.” She also shared that the family is “thrilled” that the two decided to tie the knot.
Given the couple’s advanced age, their choice to marry was “certainly a surprise.” But ultimately, it was the best choice.
What can you say to a couple who have been alive for a century?
The couple married in a ceremony that incorporated Jewish traditions, officiated by Rabbi Adam Wohlberg. Speaking with Fox News, he shared that he didn’t want to give the couple the type of advice he gives other couples.
“I think it is safe to say each of you, what you know and understand about each other, is exactly what the future holds for you and your partner. And what you have determined you love about each other – well, those things are not about to change,” he said.
