Police in Nebraska have reported a tragic end to the weeks-long search for three missing girls. Laiana Green, 18, Lah Ktray Moo, 18, Eh Cress Moo, 11, and an unidentified fourth girl went fishing at NP Dodge Park in Omaha on April 15, 2025. After one of the girls fell into the Missouri River, the others reportedly tried to save her. Sadly, only one person escaped the waters, and Laiana, Lah, and Eh went missing. After two weeks, crews have finally located all three bodies, and their families have a bit of closure.
According to WOWT, crews located Lah’s body on the evening of April 26. They found Eh and Laiana on the morning of April 29. The Omaha Fire Department announced the discovery in a statement on Facebook.
“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of these girls. The loss of these young lives has touched our entire community, and our hearts continue to be with you now and in the days ahead,” the statement reads.
Several agencies joined the search for the girls. The fire department expressed its appreciation for everyone’s efforts in the search.
“Thank you to our OFD Special Operations Team for their unwavering dedication and professionalism throughout this challenging mission,” the department’s statement read. “Your tireless efforts are a true testament to the heart of our service. The skill, teamwork, and compassion you brought to every moment of this response reflect the very best of our department. We are proud of your courage and deeply grateful for the care and commitment you bring to our community every day.”
Following the discovery of the girls’ bodies, Laiana Green’s aunt, Nichelle Griffy, told KMTV she felt a bit of closure.
“Right now, feeling relieved that we have all three girls physically now – sad, but we’re thankful that we have them now,” Griffy said.
She added that the families are relying on each other to work through the tragedy. “We all sharing the same loss, so not even different languages should outshine your hearts,” Griffy said, per KMTV.
Loved ones have created fundraisers for the girls’ families. Htee Paw wrote a message of gratitude on a GoFundMe account for Lah and Eh.
“My family kindly needs your prayers and support as we continue to struggle with this devastating loss. Any money donated will be used for the funeral expenses. We appreciate your kindness and support in helping us reach our fundraising goal,” she shared.
The GoFundMe has raised nearly $8,000 of a $10,000 goal.
LaShawna Jones created a separate GoFundMe page in honor of Laiana’s courage. It’s raised $4,000 of a $10,000 goal.
“We are heartbroken to share that our 18-year-old Laiana Green—lovingly known as LaiLai or Pooh—tragically drowned while trying to save her family and friends at a local river. She acted selflessly and bravely in a moment of chaos, and we are devastated by the loss,” Jones shared on the page.
