Kourtney Kardashian Calls School ‘So Dated’ in Podcast Rant

Kourtney Kardashian has never been shy about sharing the ways she likes to do things differently, especially when it comes to her ultra-strict diet. But this time around, she’s opening up about her opinion on another topic: her children’s education. Apparently, Kourtney doesn’t love the way traditional schooling works, even going so far as to call it “dated” during her appearance on sister Khloé Kardashian‘s podcast this week.

Kourtney didn’t hold back when it came to her thoughts on education.

While chatting with her sis for this week’s new episode of Khloé in Wonder Land, Kourtney admitted she doesn’t like the idea of “conforming” when it comes to schooling for her children, who include Mason, 15, Penelope, 12, Reign, 10, and Rocky, 1.

“I think living authentically is not conforming to whatever,” she said. “I do it with everything. Like, with the school system, I’ll think, ‘Why do kids f—ing go to school? Truly, it’s so dated.”

Unsurprisingly, her kids seem to be on board.

It sounds like they know how their mom feels about school, because Kourtney said they are often sending her videos that prove her point about education.

“It’ll be like, really successful people, and they’ll be like, ‘My kids never go to school, and they’re never going to!’” she shared. “Then I’m like, ‘What’s the goal here? Do you want to do homeschool? Let’s do it!’”

Khloé didn’t disagree.

Interestingly enough, Khloé – who usually falls on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to Kourtney’s parenting opinions – shared that she feels the same way.

“Oh, I’m such a homeschool person, so don’t even get me going,” she said on the podcast.

Critics pointed out how problematic Kourtney’s opinion is.

On Reddit, critics slammed Kourtney for her thoughts on education.

“There’s a strong wave of anti-intellectualism in America and it’s frightening. What do you mean kids going to school is outdated???” one person wrote.

Another commenter shared, “People this privileged don’t know that school can be the only safe haven for some kids. It’s where children facing abuse at home can be monitored. It’s where some children get their only meal a day.”

It’s definitely worth noting that unless something has changed behind the scenes, all of the Kardashian kids seem to attend a traditional private school. But after hearing Kourtney and Khloé’s conversation, we have to wonder if they’re planning to try a little something different next fall.
