Kate Middleton & Prince William Have Reportedly Decided To Send Prince George to Boarding School

Now that Prince George is just weeks away from turning 12, there has been more speculation than ever about where he might go to school in the fall of 2026. Would Kate Middleton and Prince William choose a co-ed school he could attend with both of his younger siblings someday, or would he follow in his dad’s footsteps and end up boarding at Eton College? Now, it seems like we finally have our answer.

According to what sources close to the royals told the Daily Mail, George will be carrying on tradition, because apparently, “all roads lead to Eton.”

It sounds like the powers that be at Eton are feeling a bit of “smugness” knowing that they will educate another future king, even if they aren’t able to make that known publicly yet.

“It was like, ‘I know something and the people at Eton know something, but I’m not going to tell you.’ That was after William and Kate visited Eton,'” one insider said.

As People pointed out, we already know that George visited Eton with the Prince and Princess of Wales in 2024, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all if this intel turns out to be correct. But since Eton is a boys school for ages 13 and up, he will still have another school year to look forward to at the Lambrook School with Charlotte and Louis.

When he does start at Eton in September 2026, though, it will be a big change for the family. Eton is a boarding school, which means that when school is in session, he won’t live at home with his parents and siblings. The good news: it’s very close to Will and Kate’s family home, Adelaide Cottage, in Windsor, so it will be easy for everyone to see each other once this next step of his schooling begins.

Previously, Will and Kate were said to be a bit torn about where to send George, and sources have claimed that they also explored the option of sending him to Marlborough College, where Kate studied in her secondary school years. In the end, though, it looks like Will’s school won out, and hopefully, George will be able to make plenty of happy memories there, just like his dad did.

There’s no doubt he’ll be so missed at home, though. It’s going to be hard for Kate to say goodbye — no doubt about that.
