Online trolls might’ve played a role in Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s decision to get a nose job after being released from prison. Gypsy-Rose appeared on the Wednesday, June 25 episode of Tori Spelling’s misSPELLING podcast. While on the podcast, she admitted that she wasn’t prepared for the amount of attention and hate she’d receive on social media.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard underwent a rhinoplasty in 2024.
Since her 2023 release from prison for her mother’s murder, Gypsy-Rose has unveiled several dramatic transformations. In addition to debuting a new nose in April 2024, Gypsy-Rose also had dental work done, among other changes. After she underwent a rhinoplasty, she told E! News that the procedure was more painful than she expected, but she was happy with the results.
“I’m very proud of my new nose. I love my new nose,” she told the entertainment outlet at the time. “It’s subtle. I still look like me. But it’s definitely given me self-confidence.”
She spoke about the cosmetic procedure on Tori Spelling’s podcast
During Gypsy-Rose’s appearance on her podcast, Tori complimented her nose. “Your nose looks bomb,” Tori told Gypsy-Rose, adding, “Was that just a game-changer?”
Gypsy-Rose confirmed that it was, and spoke about how insecure she felt about her appearance prior to her nose job. Gypsy-Rose said her mom had “teased” her about her nose, she explained to Tori.
Because of this, she was already self-conscious — even before haters started bashing her appearance on social media.
Gypsy-Rose didn’t realize she would get so much attention.
After her release from prison, Gypsy-Rose joined social media not expecting celebrity-level attention. She hinted at how jarring it was to be perceived and judged by so many people.
“Coming out of prison I got on social media and there were all these people judging me and basically making me a celebrity overnight,” she told Tori. “I’m not a celebrity, I don’t think of myself as a celebrity, I’m just a person and I didn’t expect to come out to such a big platform.”
Unfortunately, she learned quickly that people can be quite cruel on social media. “Trying to do cute little selfies and stuff like that, I learned really fast that there are people that will not take their shoe off to tell you, ‘You have a big a– nose,'” Gypsy-Rose said.
Tori acknowledged that some people on social media can be “evil” even though having a social media presence can also be “positive and empowering.” And while many would tell people to simply ignore the haters and not read the comments, Tori admitted that can be hard to do.
Gypsy-Rose previously spoke about how social media exacerbated her insecurities.
On an October 2024 episode of The Viall Files, Gypsy-Rose spoke about her decision to get a nose job. She said that the procedure was something she “had been wanting for a long time.”
She hoped that the cosmetic surgery would help her feel more confident because she “was called all kinds of things” on social media. “I had been teased for my nose forever, and social media just made that even worse. I was called ‘the nose,’” she said.
