The dynamic between Kanye West and wife Bianca Censori has been an interesting one from the start, but this update on one of her most unconventional looks really thickens the plot a bit. After Bianca stepped out wearing lingerie made of candy over the weekend, Ye’s rep says that the rapper actually paid her to wear it because she wasn’t into it at first … and apparently, she made a pretty hefty profit from giving in to his wishes.
Remember those candy necklaces that were super popular in the ’90s (and are still a hit with many kids today)? Bianca’s entire outfit — a bra and panties — was crafted out of the same candy when she and Ye were photographed in New York on Saturday. (You can see the full edible ensemble here.)
She reportedly wasn’t into the idea of wearing it at first, which is hard to blame her for; after all, it does look extremely uncomfortable. The discomfort was probably the least of the issues that can come up while out and about in an outfit like this. But then, Bianca had a change of heart when Ye sweetened the deal with some cold, hard cash.
According to a statement that Ye’s rep released to Page Six and other outlets, Bianca “negotiated a fee of $250,000 to wear this outfit on account of creative differences regarding the upper breast-bearing pylons.”
“Bianca felt the candy produced a potentially unflattering shadow line, but Ye was not prepared to sacrifice olfactory experience,” Ye’s rep said. “Everything was fine until Ye asked for the garment back last night, to exchange it for cash, whereupon it was discovered that the glut of sugar calories prickling and taunting her all afternoon had proven too much for Ms. Censori to resist.”
They continued, “I am told by the seamstresses that nothing remains of the lower section of the garment — not even the string. The fate of the quarter million dollars is not known.”
Of course, judging by the tone of the statement, it’s hard to say how much of it (if any) is actually true, since it does sound more sarcastic than anything else. But with these two, you truly never know.
This update comes after rumors that Ye and Bianca had decided to go their separate ways surfaced multiple times over the past year, but after their most recent outing, it seems more likely that they’re still going strong — for now, anyway.
