If anyone knows what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight, it’s Britney Spears — and she’s also well accustomed to the judgment that comes with it. Now, she’s sharing that wisdom with a fellow pop sensation who’s experiencing a bit of criticism this week: Justin Bieber. In an Instagram post she shared on Tuesday, Britney came to Justin’s defense after he was accused of using his son to promote his new album, Swag, after dropping its second part last week.
Justin has been sharing photos of his son, Jack Blues, as he promotes his new projects.
Not only has Justin used photos of his family (including 1-year-old son Jack Blues and wife Hailey Bieber) in his posts about Swag and Swag II in his social media posts, but the photos have also appeared on billboards and other advertising around the country to promote the albums.
Critics have been calling Justin out for the photos of Jack.
While plenty of Justin’s fans are happy to see more of Jack and to have new music from the singer, others are raising an eyebrow about how many photos of his son have been used in the process.
One fan didn’t mince words, writing in a comment on one Instagram post about Swag II, “Stop using your baby to promote your crappy brand.”
Britney is defending Justin against the criticism.
On Tuesday night, Britney took to Instagram to share a photo of Justin and Jack that he’d shared himself previously, offering a few words in her fellow megastar’s defense.
“Shame on those who judged my home in my pajamas !!!” Britney wrote in her caption. “I’m in love with this picture !!! So so beautiful !!!”
This post follows reports that Britney reached out to Justin personally over the summer.
According to what a source told The Globe, Britney offered her support to Justin in June, since she knows what it’s like to be coming of age and starting a family with the world watching.
“Justin’s terrified and says Britney is the only one who truly gets it,” the source said. “But hearing what she endured has him even more paranoid and unhinged.”
The insider added, “He feels trapped. It’s no wonder he’s turning to Britney — she’s the only one who has lived through this kind of nightmare!”
