Back in May, Prince Harry made it clean that he’s hoping for reconciliation after years of estrangement from his father, King Charles. But things did not seem to be heading in that direction until earlier this month, when Prince Harry met with his father for the first time in 19 months. The September 10 meeting between the dad and son signaled that there may actually be hope for them, leading some to wonder if Harry could return to royal life in the future. According to a recent report, however, it seems that Harry is merely focused on improving his relationship with his dad and has no plans to take on a public role.
King Charles has reportedly made it clear that this type of public role is not an option.
Prince Harry seems to be comfortable with his current lifestyle. But even if he wanted to return to royal life, it doesn’t sound like that would actually be an option. “The King has been absolutely clear in upholding his late mother’s decision that there can be no ‘half-in, half-out’ public role for members of the family,” a royal source recently told The Times.
Moreover, a source told the Daily Mail that Harry is not even entertaining the possibility of returning to royal life. Apparently, the idea was “put to bed years ago.”
Some reports suggest that Harry might want to return to the UK.

Singer Joss Stone recently spoke to Prince Harry, and comments she made about the interaction sparked rumors that Harry might be planning to move back to the United Kingdom. “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” the singer told Hello! magazine. She later added, “Maybe Harry will move back too.”
However, other reports suggest that there’s no validity to these rumors. A source told the Daily Mail that Harry is “very happy with his life in California” and is “very happy just visiting the UK as and when to support his patronages and causes.”
His relationship with his dad seems to be his priority.

Per The Times, Harry didn’t meet with his father because he wants to return to royal duties. The publication reported that Harry seemingly has no interest in a “half-in, half-out” role in the royal family anyway. A spokesperson for him told the publication, “The duke has made it clear that the focus has to be on his dad. Beyond that, and on any other issues as it relates to his family, we won’t be commenting.”
In May, when Harry spoke to the BBC about his hopes for reconciliation, he alluded to concerns about his father’s health. “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he said at the time. “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
