Moms in the Kardashian-Jenner family are often criticized for failing to protect their kids by keeping them out of the spotlight. But apparently, it’s also a problem when they do try keep their kiddos out of the public eye? Kourtney Kardashian and her husband, Travis Barker, actively avoid sharing their son Rocky’s face publicly. For some reason, this decision has been pretty controversial.
Kourtney recently shared a photo of Rocky in which his face was covered.
On October 17, 46-year-old Kourtney shared a series of Halloween photos on Instagram. Kourtney is known for her lavish Halloween decorations, and has even described herself as the “Queen of Halloween.” But people were less interested in the costumes in her post and more focused on the fact that her son’s face obscured by a jack-o’-lantern emoji. Rocky is only 23 months old.
People told her they don’t actually care about her kid anyway.
In response to Kourtney’s post, numerous people left harsh comments, calling her “ridiculous” for covering her son’s face. Some people even claimed that they don’t actually care what he looks like anyway. “Still acting like we care what the kid looks like,” one critic commented. Someone else responded to the comment by writing, “This is a sign you care btw ❤️.” According to multiple publications, including Buzzfeed and the Daily Mail, Kourtney ‘liked’ this response.
The criticism didn’t stop there though. Because the paparazzi have managed to take photos of Rocky, some critics insisted that Kourtney shouldn’t cover his face anymore. “We’ve seen his face already,” another person commented. Someone else said, “Why cover his face when everyone knows what he looks like?”
Several people commented on the Halloween post to say the same thing. One of them wrote, “Rocky’s face is on the internet already, just let that cute face shine.” Another said, “Ridiculous covering the baby face when [there are] already pictures around 😂”
At the same time, others defended Kourtney.
In her defense, whether or not she shares photos of her child is not anyone else’s business. Yes, paparazzi photos exist — but that doesn’t mean Kourtney has to post photos of Rocky freely if she doesn’t want to do that. “Girl you do you and keep your children safe 🫶🏻 It doesn’t concern others, what your child looks like,” one person wrote. A second fan added, “Just because paparazzi doesn’t respect the parents wishes and shows his face doesn’t mean they need to be bullied into posting him. It’s what they want.”
