Prince William Drops Rare Harry Reference After King Charles & Kate’s Pleas To Reconcile

It’s surprising that Prince William‘s feud with Prince Harry has gone on this long — after all, it has been nearly six years since his brother and wife Meghan Markle decided to split from the royal family and move to the United States. But now, there may have been a sign that William’s starting to waver a bit when it comes to forgiving Harry … even if royal insiders claim that he’s not totally on that path just yet.

William made a rare mention of Harry during a recent interview.

While appearing on Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ series, The Reluctant Traveler, William mentioned Harry while talking about changes he’d like to make in the royal family when it’s his turn to rule.

“I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past Harry and I had to grow up with,” he said on the show. “I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.”

It was meant to serve as an “olive branch” towards his brother.

According to what a royal insider told Radar Online, William’s mention of Harry is a sign that he is “finally coming around to the idea of truce talks,” though the progress might be slow.

“There’s no way he’s willing to pick up the phone and do this casually,” the source added.

The trust between Harry and William reportedly isn’t there yet.

Reportedly, things between the brothers are still so tense that the source noted that any type of talk between them “would need to be a supervised discussion, handled with total discretion.”

After everything that’s happened over the past six years, William isn’t ready to trust Harry yet, and palace aides don’t think that he should, either.

“A lot of courtiers still don’t trust him an inch. And they think it’s crucial for William to stand his ground and stay far away from the Sussexes,” the insider said.

The royal insider said that Kate and Charles have been after William to make up with Harry.

If William does give in and mend fences with his brother, it will be with the encouragement of wife Kate Middleton and dad King Charles, whose cancer diagnoses have given them a different outlook on life and family relationships.

“There’s only so much resistance he can put up against his own wife and father, who are telling him in no uncertain terms that enough is enough and it’s high time for peace,” the source said.
