Three teenagers in St. Johns, Florida, have been arrested after participating in a viral TikTok challenge. Allegedly, the teens were participating in the “Door Kick Challenge.” Young people are running up to residential front doors and kicking them, attempting to run away before anyone can open the door. As with previous TikTok challenges that go viral among teens, there is always a chance that things could go wrong. These teens are lucky they were only arrested and not seriously injured.
On November 23, 2025, residents at a home on Sweetbrier Branch Lane called the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office for a possible burglary in progress, WFLA reported. The resident claimed someone was “attempting to kick their door in,” the sheriff’s office said.
Additionally, the resident said her husband had a weapon “in his hand in case they come back.”
Deputies went to the home and found three teenagers near the home, dressed in dark clothing and wearing gloves. According to the sheriff’s office, that wasn’t the only home the teens targeted that night. They also caused damage to other front doors around the neighborhood.
The teens were arrested and charged with loitering and prowling. One of the three was also charged with criminal mischief because of the damage done to the front door of one of the homes they reportedly targeted.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office did not identify the teens involved, but said they were 13 and 14 years old.
“This ‘challenge’ is not a harmless prank,” they warned in the post. “As you heard in the audio, the complainants were armed, waiting at the front door to shoot the possible intruder. Participating in this criminal act has serious and possibly life-changing consequences.”
They made it clear that participating in the door kick challenge, or any other viral challenge could lead to arrests. “We are prepared to arrest and charge individuals involved, regardless of age,” the department said.
