A North Carolina family is desperately searching for Frezja Baker, a mom who went missing a week ago in the Charlotte area. After dropping off her toddler off with her family, she said she would be home in about an hour, but she didn’t come back. She was last seen with a man she knows, according to her family, but her behavior is concerning. They all say the mom would never abandon her son, and her not reaching out to check on him is not like her. Additionally, she has never gone radio silent like she has for the last week. Police have been actively looking for Baker, and her family is searching too. They are desperate to bring her home to her little boy.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department shared a news release asking for the public’s help locating Baker. “Ms. Baker was last seen at 1323 Lasalle Street in Charlotte at 9:52 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025,” the release read. She was driving her 2004 Honda Accord, displaying South Carolina Temporary License Plate HBL5984A.
According to police, Baker was last seen wearing a black, long sleeve shirt with “Panthers” written on the chest in white and blue, dark-colored leggings, and white shoes. She was carrying a black purse with a gold strap.
“Family members are concerned for Ms. Baker’s well-being and are seeking information on her whereabouts,” the release shared. “Anyone with information on Ms. Baker’s location or her vehicle’s location are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.”

According to the mother’s brother, Fred Baker, she dropped off her 2-year-old son at her grandparents’ home after a dental appointment that Thursday, WBTV reported. She called him around 10:30 p.m., telling him she’d be there in an hour. She never returned.
“My sister never came home. She always come home to check on her kid. If she don’t come home she’ll call to check on her kid,” he said. He added that relatives became concerned when she didn’t call to check in on Friday either. They said it was unusual not to hear from her for that long.
Since December 5, Baker’s phone has gone straight to voicemail. Her family and friends say her lack of direct communication is out of character; she’s not even active on social media, which is also unusual.
“What was suspicious to me is that she didn’t respond,” Baker’s godsister Ty told WCNC. “It is not like her not to hear from her at all.”
The family said she was last seen with a man they referred to as an associate. No further details were given about their relationship. Despite the concerning behaviors, the family is holding out hope that she is still alive.
“She’s alive,” her father Freddie Baker told WCNC. “I’m not going to think anything negative. We are going to find my daughter.”
Still, her disappearance is taking its toll on the family. Recently her toddler saw her photo on TV, which brought up a lot of feelings.
“He seen her on TV and said ‘Mommy’… and that kind of did something to me,” Freddie said. “My momma just fell out… I have to find her.” Ty added, “We’re trying to bring her home. Her baby needs her.”
The family is conducting its own searches in addition to the police investigation. They’ve been going between Charlotte and South Carolina, handing out flyers and checking dead-end streets and other areas where a car could be dumped. They’re urging the public to keep their eyes open and report anything that might help the family find her.
“I just want my baby home, I just want her home, in good health and good, that’s all,” her mother told WSOC-TV.
