White House Adds InsultingPlaques Beneath Presidential Portraits

On social media, lots of people have argued that the Trump administration is the most unprofessional administration in United States history, and a recent development suggests Trump admin officials are working hard to earn that title. On Wednesday, December 17, multiple publications reported that President Donald Trump updated his “Presidential Walk of Fame” to include plaques beneath the presidential portraits. The descriptions of the former presidents are about as unhinged as you might expect, or worse.

If you read the descriptions of Former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, you might feel like you’re reading one of Trump’s late-night Truth Social rants about someone who has “wronged” him in some way. Instead of ordinary descriptions of the former presidents and their accomplishments, the plaques feature insults, misinformation, and childish nicknames. Because of course they do. And while it may not be completely shocking that the president would stoop to this level, people are still disgusted.

Biden is referred to as “Sleepy Joe Biden.”

Being objective and accurate was clearly not the priority when these descriptions were written, as Biden is also described as “the worst President in American History.” The plaque also falsely states that Biden took “office as a result of the most corrupt Election ever seen in the United States.”

The plaque claims that Biden “brought our Nation to the brink of destruction” and references his “severe mental decline.” Much like Trump’s Truth Social posts, seemingly random words and letters are capitalized. (Did anyone proofread these descriptions?)

By the end of the plaque, we’re urged to focus on Trump and how he allegedly “saved” the country from Biden’s chaos. “Despite it all, President Trump would get Re-Elected in a Landslide, and SAVE AMERICA!”

Unsurprisingly, Trump also made a plaque to criticize Obama.

On the plaque, Obama is described as “one of the most divisive figures in American history.” He is also credited with signing the Affordable Care Act into law — except the Trump admin referred to it as “the highly ineffective ‘Unaffordable’ Care Act.”

Even some of the descriptions of former presidents that are far less critical still center on Trump. For example, former president Ronald Reagan is described as a president who “left office with high approval.” But perhaps more importantly (in Trump’s eyes), “He was a fan of President Donald J. Trump long before President Trump’s Historic run for the White House” and “Likewise, President Trump was a fan of his!”

Karoline Leavitt confirmed what we were all thinking.

Yes, Trump did write the text for “many” of the plaques himself. In a statement shared with NBC News, the White House Press Secretary said, “The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each President and the legacy they left behind. As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself.”

On Reddit, people accused the Trump administration of being “so tacky” and “petty.” The plaques left many unsure of whether they should laugh or cry. Though critics slammed the president for being “a weak little snowflake” and “a petty baby man child,” they were perhaps more disgusted by the fact that no one seems to challenge him. As a result, the White House has seemingly transformed into “a gallery of [Trump’s] incoherent ramblings.”
