Mom Checks Doorbell After 3 Hours at Work & Sees Toddler Nearly Die in Dad’s Arms

Technology is always rapidly changing, but one of the biggest developments that most of us have started using in our daily lives in the last 10 years or so has to be doorbell cameras. At this point, it feels like more people have them than don’t, and they really do let us see moments that happen in front of our houses that we might have missed otherwise.

And in this mom’s case, it meant that she could check in on her toddler and his dad while she was at work, and ended up getting to witness a rough moment they shared on their way out of the house that day.

Her husband told her that he and their son “nearly died.”

@olivo150 When you go to work for 3hrs and you ask your husband to have your son and he tells you they nearly die so you check the ring door bell hmmmm👏 #greatsave #superdad #ringdoorbell #missionpossible ♬ Funny Song – Sounds Reel & Funny Song Studio & Thomas Hewitt Jones

When sharing the video, this mom wrote in her caption, “When you go to work for three hours and you ask your husband to have your son and he tells you they nearly die so you check the Ring door bell.”

When Dad and his toddler first step outside, it’s clearly a cold, rainy day, but everything seems to be going just fine. Dad stops to pick up the kid and hold him in his arms, and then carry him to the car, which is parked on the road in front of the house.

But before Dad can even get the car door open, he slips off the curb and almost falls — and he even almost dropped the kid in the process!

It was close, but the story has a happy ending.

Fortunately, he was able to stop himself from falling just in time, and neither of them got hurt (though the kid did seem to be a bit shaken around in the process of Dad keeping them both from hitting the ground).

All in all, it could have been a lot worse. And in that moment, Dad just knew that his slip had been caught on camera, because he even looked back at it once he recovered. Hey, it happens to the best of us!

The video has people cracking up.

The comments are proof that this dad isn’t the only one who has been through something like this!

“I feel bad for laughing this much,” one person admitted, while another joked, “If I was that child I’d be putting in a claim for whiplash.”

It’s good to see that everybody was okay in the end — and now, the family has this footage to look back on (and laugh at) for a long time.
